The Organization

TLW Public Relations is a full-service public relations firm that uses a group of associate professionals to provide award-winning services to cities, counties, small businesses and nonprofits. Its small size (sole proprietor using a digital agency model) ensures that its clients will have a highly experienced communications/public affairs, graphics and/or digital media professional assigned to their projects. The company’s lack of extraordinary overhead and use of talented experts allows it to offer the highest quality services at rates that are more affordable. Areas of expertise include:

· Publicity and Marketing Plans: Have researched, written and implemented numerous successful strategic publicity and marketing plans, particularly for public sector agencies and nonprofits (e.g., City of Fairfield, City of Stockton, County of Alameda, California Youth Soccer Association, and Mission Solano). · Media Relations: Have successfully sustained relationships with all major traditional Bay Area and Sacramento print and electronic media, including Channel 2 (Fox), Channel 3 (NBC), Channel 4 (independent), Channel 5 (CBS), Channel 6 (PBS), Channel 7 (ABC), Channel 9 (PBS), Channel 10 (ABC), NBC-11, Channel 13 (CBS), KCBS-radio, KGO-radio, KQED-radio, KMEL-radio, NPR (National Public Radio), S.F. Chronicle, Oakland Tribune, Contra Costa Times, San Jose Mercury and the Bay City News wire service. Have also worked extensively with all major ethnic media, including Telemundo, Univision and the Post Newspaper Group; and with well-known regional and national media, specifically, the New York Times, L.A. Times and the Associated Press. Have also worked extensively with all major Solano County newspapers and radio station KUIC. Also uses Internet media outlets to distribute information.

· Press Conferences and Media Events: Have successfully conceptualized and planned numerous press conferences and media events, including ones to introduce new programs or products, promote public policy issues, and to announce new monetary grants and special awards. All such events received significant media coverage.


· Advertising: Experience includes writing/designing and placing print and electronic ads and public service announcements to create public awareness for events, programs, public information campaigns and political initiatives.
· Editorial: Have written hundreds of press releases; materials for press/marketing/informational kits; editorials, speeches and news articles. Have served as the editor for newsletters for the City of Fairfield and the County of Alameda.

· Corporate Identity: Have worked with organizations to develop logos and corporate identity packages, including a new logo and style guide for the City of Stockton. Identity/style manual included specifications for use of the new mark on a variety of items, from cards and stationary to vehicles, uniforms and web sites.

· Media Training: Have conducted media training for cities and worked as a media advisor to public officials. Have also planned and presented media training at conferences sponsored by the League of California Cities and the City, County Communications and Marketing Association (3CMA), a national organization.

· Video and Television Production: Have developed concepts and written scripts for numerous cable television shows, including ones for the cities of Stockton and Fairfield. Also produced an educational and training video in conjunction with 4Reels Digital Media and Alameda County, that won a national municipal marketing award. Also managed the City of Fairfield's first cable television production facility.

· Presentations: Have made presentations at regional and national conferences/trade shows, specialized training seminars, and at secondary schools and colleges.

· Development of Goals and Objectives: Experienced at working with organizations to develop goals, objectives and budgets for publicity/marketing and public information projects.

· Project Oversight: Experienced at supervising professional, clerical, part-time and volunteer staff, and at overseeing budgets for publicity/marketing/public information projects.
